The EU-SPRI Annual Conference on Research with Impact
The next Eu-SPRI Annual Conference, under the captivating theme of Research with Impact, will be hosted on June 14 – 16 2023, by the University of Sussex’ Business School. This prestigious event is the foremost European gathering on science, technology, and innovation (STI) policy, bringing together scholars and policymakers to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge research, and foster valuable networks.
In response to growing societal expectations, STI policy worldwide has placed increasing emphasis on researcher engagement with stakeholders to drive positive economic outcomes and tackle societal challenges. This shift highlights concerns about aligning research systems with evolving societal needs, prompting changes in funding, evaluation, organization, and dissemination of research.
At the heart of this transformation lies knowledge production, where interdisciplinary collaborations and knowledge exchange are fostering groundbreaking advancements. However, the demand for impactful research brings forth new challenges for researchers and STI policymakers, spurring critical questions for the field. Eu-SPRI 2023 will serve as a platform for international colleagues to delve into these pressing issues, shaping the future of STI policy research.
Our team member, Dr. Rafael Popper, together with Dr. Łukasz Nazarko from Bialystok University of Technology, will present the results of a forthcoming paper on "Foresight Competence and Responsible Innovation in Industry: Interrelations and Policy Implications" and a focused poster on "Integrating RRI into Smart Specialization Strategy: Taking Stock of Regional Initiatives", thus reinforcing our commitment to driving positive change through forward-thinking research.
